Introduction
Linear Displacement Sensors are non-contact devices that determine an object’s linear coordinates with respect to a reference point. There are many types depending on the principle of detection. In Inductive type the displacement is measured by the Eddy Current effect. When the Object moves from one position to another, the amplitude of the sensing coil varies in relation to the displacement between the sensing face and the target. This is being processed and outputs are made available either in the form of standard 0 … 10Vdc Voltage output (or) 4…20 mA Current output.
